Genius Science & Math Camp

The camp is a hands-on academic enrichment program focused on presenting STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) concepts and principles. Our instructors introduce various forms, concepts,  and theories by incorporating technology, field experiments, classroom lectures, and interactive team building projects.
Our goal is to present an exploratory learning session where every camper develops and enhances his or her critical and analytical thinking skills. We want to develop the next generation of scientists, engineers, inventors and leaders from our community.

Field of Dreams Booker T. Washington STEM Camp

STEM summer camps are designed to teach science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to students of all ages in a fun and engaging way. The students learn basic STEM skills while making new friends and improving social skills.

When we look at best practices for STEM education, we find that summer offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in STEM learning in ways that mirror real-world needs, while also drawing on the practices that make these learning activities most successful. Furthermore, summer is not just a convenient venue for engaging youth; as we describe in the next section and illustrate with the four exemplary programs that follow, a strong summer STEM program is a critical opportunity for our most vulnerable youth.

Racing to Make Our Dreams (RMOD)

Our Racing to Make Our Dreams (RMOD) program uses the tools and values of Soap Box Derby® racing to introduce Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math (STEAM) to students in an enjoyable, and engaging way. Our Education Program is designed to provide 4th – 12th educators and students with project, and standards-based, inter-curricular learning opportunities. Through RMOD, each school will have an opportunity to assign a team of students who will assemble soap box derby car kits for their school; either as a Saturday school project, or after school settings and then race against other teams per their school level and division in hopes of being crowned RMOD Champion! The objective is to educate, expose, and endow these students to the sport of auto racing; and how to apply the principles of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
